Senior Network Engineer

Location: Adel, Georgia (Hybrid)
Pay: $85,000 – $110,000 / year (based on experience and certifications)
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role

AEGIS Data Systems is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with deep experience in enterprise networking and cybersecurity. You’ll design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures for AEGIS clients and internal systems, collaborating closely with our security and software teams to ensure every network meets top standards for performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy secure LAN, WAN, and VPN architectures (Cisco, Ubiquiti, pfSense)
• Implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, VLAN segmentation, and multi-layer security controls
• Perform network audits, penetration tests, and security compliance reviews
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across routers, switches, access points, and cloud gateways
• Mentor junior technicians and review network configurations
• Maintain network documentation, topology maps, and baseline configs

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years as a Network Engineer or similar role
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security principles
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools (pfSense, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, SolarWinds, etc.)
• Hands-on with Windows and Linux network environments
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Certifications

• CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CySA+
• Cisco CCNA / CCNP
• Vendor security certifications (Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, etc.)
